‘One Piece’ Website – “Eiichiro Oda’s Scribble Corner” Post #5 (Jan. 14)

For those of you reading this that don’t follow the official English One Piecechapters, brought out weekly (on the same day as the Japanese releases on Mondays) by Viz Media, and translated by our eternal special guest Stephen Paul, in the English Shonen Jump, the Tontatta have a cute way of speaking that Oda used here as well. I tried to translate it like they would in the English One Piece chapters but I’m no Stephen, so forgive me.

Just a matter of dotting the i’s, crossing the t’s and punning the words.

Oh, and if you were wondering: the original Japanese title of the post is the same title as the Character Song CD of the Tontatta and Kagoshima Prefecture. It’s not an exact translation, but the original title didn’t seem to bear any real deeper meaning other than trying to have something that rhymed with Tontatta in Japanese.
